Transhumanism is the belief that we can use science and technology to evolve beyond our biological bodies and the limitations these bodies place on us. As such, the augmentation of the body and mind is at the forefront of the movement; a movement that is not quite so niche as you might expect. Technologists and futurists, from Elon Musk and Ray Kurzweil, to Bill Gates and Prof. Stephen Hawking, are all convinced that artificial superintelligence is on its way – that within a matter of perhaps only two decades, AI technology will exceed human intelligence. At that point, these experts warn, humanity could face an unprecedented existential crisis, to rival that of climate change and overpopulation. Elon Musk has gone as far to say that it is our “biggest existential threat”. Whilst som...
Ever since Elon Musk announced his acquisition of Neuralink in March 2017, the news has been awash with criticism and commentaries on human computer interfaces. Perhaps the most widely shared of these is the (excruciatingly long) Wait But Why article that broke the Neuralink news. In the article, Tim Urban explains in minute detail how the technology will work. If you haven’t had the pleasure yet, you can read ‘Neuralink and the Brain’s Magical Future’ here. The concept of human computer interfaces isn’t entirely new, though the Elon Musk news has driven it into the mainstream. Acclaimed futurist and transhumanist guru, Ray Kurzweil, has been championing human-machine symbiosis for much of his career, predicting that “the nonbiological portion of our intelligence will predominate” by the 2...
Two years today homeAI.info first went live. I am very happy to say that the purpose for site then is still the core purpose of the Informed.AI group of websites, and that is to Support the AI Community. The two year milestone has made us review this mission and we are pleased to revise our mandate to ensure our core message and purpose is clear and easy to understand. The past two years have been an amazing journey, adding more functionality to homeAI.info, creating a number supporting sites for specific parts of the ecosystem. But the most enjoyable part of this for us has always been meeting people and helping them to engage better with the wider AI community. We have accomplished so many amazing things over the past two years. For example, our Events site recently hit the 150 events li...
AI Love You is an interactive show by Heart to Heart Theatre which discusses the relationship between humans and artificial intelligence. Putting the audience at the centre of this ‘choose your own story’ play, AI Love You allows the audience to create the fate of the characters. Through voting the audience are asked to make moral decisions that bring our own relationship with technology to the foreground. Drawing inspiration from philosophers, Deep Mind, addiction to the internet/technology and some very creepy sex robots, Heart to Heart Theatre invite the audience to question what it is that makes them human and if a robot could or should have the same rights as them. What will happen when programmes are so good at imitating life that they ask to be treated that way? With A...

Pleased to announce the official launch of the London Chapter of Neurons.AI which includes a number of meet up groups as listed below; https://www.meetup.com/Artificial-Intelligence-in-the-Enterprise/ https://www.meetup.com/Deep-Learning-Lab/ We are still defining the main focus of each group, and may over time add more groups to the list once we fully understand the demand from members. The off-line meetups are a integral part of Neurons.AI and we hope to add more Chapters as our membership grows and other groups in other Cities emerge.

All, While we opened for early registrations at the beginning of the week, we are now officially live in beta mode and welcome continued registrations. We hope you fully support this initiative going forward. We have user blogs, forums and messaging as communication platforms within the Neurons site. You can also send invites to your colleagues and friends to join the Neurons network too … see the link on the right of your profile page. Many thanks And...
A very warm welcome to all the new members that have joined this new and exciting platform. Having setup homeAI.info 18 months ago I have received a lot of feedback asking for a way to connect industry and research together, providing a method to share ideas and facilitate collaborations. This is exactly what this platform is all about, and I hope you all take time to use this platform, create blogs, post to the forums, have active discussions with other members. I also hope that is people a core directory of AI experts, with members filling our their profiles to showcase what they are doing and what they are interested in. Ultimately this platform is yours, its members, and I hope you all find it useful and make this into something that can support the AI community and help to advance the...
